Everyone deserves safety, dignity, and the freedom to shape her own life. Gender-based violence continues to threaten these rights in homes, schools, workplaces, and digital spaces.

This 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, we invite you to share your story, initiative, or solution as part of a global campaign to #EndGBV.

The annual campaign runs from November 25 to December 10. This year’s theme is “Ensure justice, protect survivors, end impunity.”

This call invites reflection on the messages we learn about gender and power, and how those lessons influence our relationships and responses to harm. We welcome experiences of opening conversations with boys and men, encouraging shared responsibility for prevention, and supporting survivors.

How Can I Participate?

The call for stories is open through December 15, 2026.

Share your story. Write a personal story or reflection, upload a video or audio clip, or share artwork expressing your perspective. Post it on World Pulse and tag it with #EndGBV to be considered for a Story Award.

Post your initiative. If you lead a campaign, organization, or community project that addresses gender-based violence through education, prevention, or survivor support, share it as an Initiative on World Pulse. Describe your goals, who participates, and what you are learning. Initiatives tagged with End GBV will be considered for Initiative Awards.

Invite others. Share the call with advocates, educators, researchers, survivors, and allies. Participation is a personal choice, and everyone is welcome to decide what they wish to share.

What Happens After I Share My Story or Initiative?

Your submission will be published on World Pulse according to the platform’s visibility settings. Consider what you are comfortable making public before posting.

If your submission is selected for an award or further publication, the World Pulse team will contact you directly about the next steps. Please ensure the email linked to your World Pulse profile is up to date.

What Are the Safety Considerations?

Writing about gender-based violence can be deeply personal. Posting online may expose someone to unwanted attention, harassment, surveillance, or retaliation.

Before sharing:

  • Avoid names, photographs, locations, or other details that could put you or someone else at risk.

  • Protect the identities of children and people involved in sensitive or ongoing cases.

  • Seek permission before sharing another person’s experience. Something shared privately is not automatically yours to publish.

  • Review your profile and visibility settings. Using an alias may protect your identity, but details in your story could still make you recognizable.

  • Consider a brief content note if your story discusses violence or abuse.

Your well-being comes first. Only share what is safe and comfortable for you.
