If you hold the Changemaker badge on World Pulse, you are eligible to apply as a Mentee and match with a World Pulse Community Mentor. There is no cost to be mentored on World Pulse. Community Mentors commit to hold space, provide individualized attention, and build deep relationships with World Pulse Changemakers over a six-month period.

What are the requirements to join the World Pulse mentoring program?

At the current time, the mentoring program is only open to women and non-binary leaders.

We have completed three pilots of the matching process to ensure the mentoring program is most responsive to our communities needs and found that there are a few important pre-requisites are essential to having a successful mentoring experience. Follow the steps below to start your World Pulse mentee journey:

1. Hold the appropriate badge.

• Mentees have to hold a Changemaker badge. This means that they have set up their Impact Dashboard, have a goal of people they hope to impact, and an initiative underway to reach that goal. This is important because it gives mentors a clear introduction to their mentees. Of course mentors and mentees can talk about anything they wish to during their calls, but when mentors are just starting out, getting an idea of the impact changemakers want to have on the world gives them a launching point for rich discussions. 

2. Mentees need to complete the online mentee orientation to the program. Go to the Digital Empowerment Training Suite and complete the training. This includes:

• An orientation to the program and overview of expectations for signing up; and a training in unconscious bias.
• Complete the assignments: To earn your certificate, you will need to post a story reflecting on each video training.

3. Find a mentor on World Pulse:

Browse the profiles of current World Pulse Mentors by clicking "search" in the top right corner of any page on WorldPulse.org

Once you are on the Search page, click "Filter" and then "Badges." Select the Community Mentor badge and you will see the full list of community mentors refresh on the page.

From there, you can click on any profile to find your next mentor.

When you find someone who you are interested in connecting with, click "Be my mentor" from their profile. 

You will receive a message if you pass the prerequisites for the program. A member of our Community Moderation team will reach out with more details.
