Frontline Defenders offers a few different types of rapid response grants:

1. Protection grants

These grants can cover:

  • Security (physical and digital). For example, installing an alarm system in your house.

  • Legal fees

  • Medical fees, in case you were physically attacked.

  • Family assistance in case you are incarcerated, had to flee, or if your family members are being threatened.

They do not cover:

  • Retrospective funding (funds for expenses you incurred in the past)

  • International organizations

  • Costs for human rights defenders who are already in exile.

  • Armed security guards

  • Purchase of vehicles

  • Office running costs

You need to be very specific about what you are looking for and your budget - the grants can range up to 7,500 Euros.

2. Risk analysis and protection planning

This can include training, wellbeing & stress management.

3. Digital protection
