On World Pulse, we believe that no one can speak for anyone else. We welcome, value, and appreciate everyone’s stories.

We also recognize that it is not easy to share stories while being identifiable on the Internet - there are a range of safety concerns to think about and address.

To protect our community members’ identities while also ensuring that they have the space to share their stories and initiatives, we’ve built our platform in such a way that no one can be found on the platform by their names or email addresses. Your username on World Pulse can be anything you want it to be - you could pick one that anonymizes you sufficiently.

During our live events, we bring people together from all over the world. We also recognize that participating with video and audio can be challenging for some - as not everyone is able to engage freely online for various reasons. We welcome participants to attend our events using a pseudonym, or by staying off camera, or by engaging only in ways that feel right.

No participant is under any pressure to turn their audio and video feed on - we welcome folks to engage exactly as they are comfortable engaging.

As we commit ourselves to building and nurturing tender over toxic tech, we find that anonymity can be empowering. In many parts of the world, women and girls are prevented from speaking out online and offline.

A mix of patriarchal and other factors are often restrictive forces that censor and silence women and girls. We want to subvert that, and we use anonymity as a way to prioritize safety, bravery, and agency for all our community members.
